We have carried out many investigations using our hand portable pushing equipment under canopies next buildings and inside the confines of existing buildings for seismic upgrade projects. Both SDMT and CPT testing can be undertaken using this equipment.
We have carried out CPT and SDMT tests for various wharf and port developments, including; Sulphur Point Wharf, Tauranga, Lyttelton Port and Ports of Auckland.
We have carried out CPT and SDMT tests using both our Pagani and Truck CPT rigs on numerous ground improvement projects throughout New Zealand, but mostly in the Christchurch area following the Canterbury earthquake sequence. We have tested for ground improvement methods of deep soil mixing, stone columns, driven piles and mass stabilisation projects.
We have carried out CPT and SDMT testing at many power stations and substations, including; Mokai power station and Harapiro, Huirangi and Rotorua substations
We have worked on many Watercare Projects, such as the Central and Northern Interceptor (CPT and SDMT testing), Hunua No. 4 Water Pipeline (Borehole sampling and dynamic probing), Mangere BNR (Biological Nutrient Removal) Facility Upgrade (CPT and SDMT testing) and various other upgrades to the Mangere, Rosedale and Papakura wastewater treatment plants and many pipeline schemes throughout Auckland.
We have worked on many of the sections making up this major roading project, including Ngaruawahia Bypass, Huntley Bypass and the Hamilton and Te Rapa sections of the Expressway. CPT and SDMT tests were carried out as well as verification testing for DSM ground improvement works
Most of our work on this project was along the approach roads and portal areas of the tunnel. Work included CPTs, SDMTs and Terrier borehole sampling. Some SDMT tests were performed through boreholes pre-drilled through basalt rock to test the soils immediately beneath using the ‘torpedo’ method of connecting the SDMT equipment to the rods of the rotary drill rig.
We have carried out many CPT and SDMT tests along this project as well as along the associated northwestern upgrade projects from St. Lukes through to Westgate. Many tests were carried out using our Pagani rig craned on to the intertidal mud flats.
