Our smaller rigs allow us to access sites with restricted or difficult access. We are always up for the challenge of testing in difficult access areas.
We have carried out many investigations using our hand portable pushing equipment under canopies next buildings and inside the confines of existing buildings for seismic upgrade projects. Both SDMT and CPT testing can be undertaken using this equipment.
Small obstructions like low height walls can often be negotiated by using ramps to get past the obstacle, here the Pagani rig is being ramped down from a footpath across a low height wall to the test location on the slope below.
The Pagani rigs can track up and down slopes of up to 30 degrees. Small obstructions like low height walls can often be negotiated by using ramps to get past the obstacle.
We have carried out many overwater projects on floating barges undertaking DMT and dynamic probe testing, including; Opua Marina, Greenhithe Bridge Watermain Duplication, Tairua Wharf development. Our small rigs are ideal for operating on barges for overwater work. DMT testing and Dynamic Probing can be performed on floating barges. A jackup barge is required for CPT work.
The pagani rig has a very low contact pressure and can track over soft ground. Track mats can be used if the ground is very soft. We have a purpose built plywood platform that is used as a working platform on very soft soils.
For areas of restricted headroom, e.g. basements, or for very tight access, our man portable push equipment is ideal. It requires a height of only 1.5m and is only 600mm wide. The base of the rig can be dynabolted onto a concrete slab floor to provide reaction force.
The Pagani rigs can track up and down slopes of up to 30 degrees. On steeper slopes, a winch on the back of the rig can be used. The Pagani rig can also operate CPT or DMT testing on steep slopes (up to 30 degrees).
The pagani rigs are only 1.2m wide, which means they can fit through narrow gaps, around the back of buildings, through gates or through areas with low height restrictions (only 1.5m high with mast down).
Our Pagani rigs weigh around 1.1 ton. This makes these rigs light enough to be easily lifted with a crane or hiab. Handy for getting over obstructions, such as walls or fences. With a large hiab truck, the rig can be lifted out by up to 25m. These rigs can also be lifted by helicopter to get to areas that would otherwise be inaccessible.
